Maya software converter for maya 2008 file to maya 8.5 file !
There are two ways : hard-one( 1st method)
1) Convert files from higher versions to lower ones there is always bound to be some data loss.. however if you want to do it save it in ascii open two ascii files one saved in maya 8.5 and the other in maya 2008 edit the maya 2008 file as the one in the maya 8.5 file .... you will have to edit attributes to match like Maya ASCII 8.5 scene example :-
change a -----------> to b requires maya “2008”;
