Today a guy asked me for help regarding scan disk removable after starting computer. Every times when he starts window his computer show when windows are improperly shut down after a troubleshoot that scan-disk will run on the next reboot to check the contents of the hard disk. But sometime registry is changed due to which scanning process starts.
Here is the solution:
chkdsk is a command that check the disk surface whenever there is physical errors. To disable to chkdsk, you must run the Registry Editor (regedt32.exe)

First we need to tweak little bit.
Each time you boot Windows XP, there's an updated file called NTOSBOOT-*.pf who appears in your prefetch directory (%SystemRoot%Prefetch) and there's no need to erease any other files as the new prefetch option in XP really improves loading time of installed programs. We only want WindowsXP to boot faster and not decrease its performance. With modification, result in an EXTREMELY fast bootup:
1. Open notepad.exe, type "del c:windowsprefetch tosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as "ntosboot.bat" in c:
2. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "gpedit.msc".

After a virus attack , the folder options from the windows explorer was missing and we were unable to show all the files including the hidden ones. So here’s what I did to restore it back: how to bring back the folder option with few steps :)
Go to Run –>gpedit.msc User Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> Windows Components –> Windows Explorer
